TALICA & TALICA II Overhead
The Shimano Talica is built on solid engineering principles that puts this reel in a league of it's own. This series offers a high-speed retrieve that you can use for jigging up brutal kingfish from offshore structure where speed can make all the difference or use it to target marlin and tuna trolling lures or pitching out a bait to a fired up pelagic.
The Talica is available in both single speed and 2 speed options providing a wider range of applications across the range - from straight out lure fishing to battling deep water species this reel has it covered.
Each model has a one-piece cold forged (for extreme strength) and machined Aluminium frame is treated with a proprietary surface process for cutting-edge corrosion protection. Shimano then added a lightweight cold forged aluminium spool, oversized HEG (High Efficiency Gearing) gears, waterproof carbon drag system and 6 S-ARB bearings for super slick operation.
The Talica has been constructed to withstand massive drag pressures for their respective sizes and a carbon drag system has been waterproofed (when engaged) to handle salt water spray.
The range features 4 sizes - 8, 10, 12 and 16, while the High Efficiency Gearing means that they have the power to fight fish well above their weight class.

After the anodisation process is finished, a second layer of surface treatment is added. This treatment is forced into the remaining surface impurities. This gives salt no hideout and also results in an extremely smooth to-the-touch finish. A reel with E.I. treatment has more than double the corrosion resistance of a standard anodised reel. |

These bearings have been through the same process as our A-RB bearings, but feature shields on both sides of the bearings that reduce the possibility of salt or sand inhibiting the bearings rotation. |
