CORVALUS SERIES Baitcast
The Shimano Corvalus range of reels, are suited to everything from slow jigging and soft baiting for snapper, blue cod, kahawai and john dory, to inshore trolling for kingfish and offshore for skipjack and albacore tuna.
Each has a die-cast aluminium frame, aluminium side plates and spool, three A-RB bearings and one stainless steel roller bearing, a non-disengaging level wind system on the 400, Super Stopper and Assist Stopper, and a quick take-down system for easy maintenance.
The Corvalus 401 caters for the left-handed angler that prefers overhead reels.
The gear ratios are all 5.2:1, to suit most fishing applications, and the Variable Brake System controls precise casts and lessens the possibilities of over runs.

VBS uses centrifugal force rather than magnets to aid in controlling the cast. The individual brake weights, when turned on, are forced outward at the beginning of the cast when backlashes most often occur, causing friction that reduces the speed of the spool. Once the spool speed begins to slow, the pressure lessens, allowing the spool to continue spinning. The result is a much more consistent sp... |

Anti-Rust Bearings are made of Stainless Steel that has been through the A-RB process. At least 10 times more corrosion resistant than standard Stainless Steel ball bearings. Easy Maintenance-no shield design allows for easy flushing of debris and easy lubrication. Increased Bearing Speed-no shield design and lighter viscosity lubrication reduce friction and allow the bearing to spin faster and lo... |
