Shimano Fishing New Zealand is excited to annoucne the addition of two new models to the Status range - We have developed two bent butt deep water rods specifically for use with the Shimano Dendou-Maru series of power assisted reels. The Status Bent Butt rods have been constructed utilising high power carbon and e-glass blank technology to withstand and absorb the pressures of deepwater fishing.

The affordable Status Bent Butt series comes in New Zealand's most popular lines weights (30lb 50lb and 80lb) for deepwater fishing. These models come with an ergonomic aluminium bent butt that allows for optimum angles when deploying baits, waiting for bites and fighting tough deepwater species like bass, hapuka (groper) and bluenose.

The Shimano Status range of rods has been designed and tested from the ground up by the team at Shimano Fishing New Zealand. The extensive range of versatile rods employs rod-building technology normally reserved for only high-end Shimano designs.

The Shimano Status range features responsive yet high-powered Carbon/E-glass blanks, graphite woven butt section, Fuji reel seats, Zirconia guides and a unique ball gimbal that makes fighting large fish a breeze.

New Zealand's deep offshore structure, coastlines, rivers and lakes are diverse and require different approaches to successfully catch one's target species and the Shimano Status has a rod in it's range to suit most situations - from bait casters, spin, overhead, boat and bent butt configurations the Shimano Status has it covered. Not only are these rods a pleasure to use, they also look stunning cosmetically with a black blank highlighted with subtle flecks of silver, silver/blue bindings and a carbon weave that sets off the Shimano Status range of rods.

Take on the trophy size trout, salmon, trevally, blue cod, trumpeter, kahawai, snapper, bass, bluenose, hapuku and kingfish with this exciting range of rods - call in to your local Shimano stockist for a demonstration today.
