BAITRUNNER D Spinning
The Shimano Baitrunner D series is the product of precise engineering advances in Shimano’s premium bait fishing range. This series has raised the bar on previous models and now can deliver the most impressive baitrunner that New Zealand angler’s have ever seen.
The range comes in four models, which have been designed with Kiwi saltwater anglers in-mind, which can cover a number of different fishing styles such as saltwater casting from the shore or boat or straylining lightly weighted baits down a berley slick intended for XOS snapper.
Each model has a water-proof drag system, Vari-Speed oscillation (Aero on 12000), cold-forged aluminium spool, lightweight yet strong graphite body with metallic black finish, Power Roller III, Super Stopper II, Dyna-Balance and propulsion line management system so that your reel can cope with the increasing popularity of using such reels with braided super lines such as Power Pro.
This Baitrunner range also includes two larger 8000 and 12000 models and with their generous line capacities are the ultimate choice for reef or saltwater fisherman.
These spools provide increased strength and durability over diecast aluminum or graphite spools.
Super Stopper II anti-reverse uses a one-way bearing that eliminates backplay. This provides the angler with instant hooksetting power. In some reels, the Super Stopper II can be turned off to allow backreeling for special techniques and situations.
This is an oversized line roller that reduces twist from casting and retrieving and is enhanced with a tapered area on the support to help line get onto the roller quicker.
Aero Wrap II is a worm gear oscillation system with a specially designed pitch to create optimal oscillation speeds for the Propulsion Spool Lip design. It provides uniform line lay and winding shape to prevent loss of energy during the cast while pr...
This feature eliminates wobble during the retrieve by counter balancing the rotor to enhance sensitivity and smoothness. By using computer balancing, an approach similar to car tire balancing, we are able to redistribute the rotor weight to create sm...
Normal oscillation systems use a constant rotation of the oscillation gear that, when translated to the cam, provides an inconsistent spool speed. This results in line lay that stacks at either end of the spool. By using an oval oscillation gear, we ...
